Being born into an entrepreneurial family, you could say that running a business is in my genes. I grew up across the street from our family-owned funeral home, where my dad is the fifth generation to run the business. Later in his career, my dad also started a home medical equipment company. For years the office and warehouse were located at our house, so I quite literally saw the ins and outs of operating a family business. Both of these examples showed me what it means to truly serve a client, particularly when handling life's most tender moments.
My own path to entrepreneurship began in 2017 when my husband, Andrew, and I decided to renovate our 1950s ranch. Like many renovations, the project came with its own unique set of challenges from a poor contractor experience to unmet expectations and eventually a failed inspection. It quickly became clear to me that proactive planning and informed decisions are essential before walls are torn down and renovation work begins. I always had an interest in home planning and design, and in the following weeks, I spent so much time reflecting on our renovation experience. Eventually, I Googled “software that Joanna Gaines uses” and taught myself how to use the 3D modeling software SketchUp by watching YouTube, and the rest is history.
What started out as nights and weekends with three young kids has now grown into a business that has tackled over 500 space plans and renovations. Today, I work with clients across Columbus (OH) area and beyond to help them see the true potential of their space. Working with clients to transform their homes and uncover solutions for their spaces has taught me that there is not only joy in the renovation outcome but in the process itself. As a collaborative partner with a keen eye for detail, I’m here to help you create a space that’s uniquely yours.
